Plymouth Liberal Democrats have announced their candidates for the January 12th by-elections in Moor View and Plympton Chaddlewood.

Colin MacKenzie (image, left) for Moor View, and Mike Gillbard (image, right) for Plympton Chaddlewood are both passionate about improving lives of Plymouth residents. The environment, sustainable travel, mental health, young people, and ensuring that areas outside of the City Centre get a fair share are some of the areas that they are keen to address.

Mike Gillbard stated, "I believe that vast amounts are being spent on projects in the City Centre, but Chaddlewood needs its fair share too. A Youth Centre would help give young people a place to meet and enhance their lives as well as providing a counselling service." He has recently been involved with campaigns led by STRAW (Save the trees of Armada Way) and is keen to ensure the protection of green spaces around the City.

Colin MacKenzie added, "There should be a bigger focus on sustainable transport and reducing pollution in the city by adopting electric buses with affordable fares, improving cycling routes, and by increasing charging facilities for electric cars.
Let's build the future for Plymouth together as a great place to live, learn and work!"

There is still time to register to vote if you are in the Moor View and Plympton Chaddlewood wards (closing 22nd December), and applications for postal votes are available.
